Excited as a bag of frogs as my second lot of merchandising arrives for Witch on the Warpath. Now able to supply tote bags, T-shirts, mugs and fridge magnets via my e-commerce site. Of course, if you're local, postage need not apply. Unfortunately, there's been a slight hiccup in my supplies. It was suggested by a fellow author that having freebies to give away at book sales might be a good way of extending sales. Things like book marks are a good idea, they said. Caught up with this vision I researched it on various sites and finally contacted my merchandise supplier JJ. She came up with a brilliant idea, magnetic book marks with the cover image front and back. Modern and trendy and very now, for virtually the same price as card ones. Fuelled up on the idea, I ordered a quantity, pleased with the mock-ups provided. You know the phrase ' all good things...' Well, sadly for JJ she missed that fact that she'd printed these double-sided bookmarks in reflection. So we have one side with the writing round the right way, the other side back to front. She's been great about it and not charged me and at very least they'll be a talking point at signings. I'll see how they go, maybe make it part of my original design, if they sell. "Yes of course I decided to produce them like this..." I'm planning to take all of this stock to Novacon in, you've guessed it, November. Its a big literary Sci-Fi Conference and I'm hoping I might gather some interest from my target audience. Meanwhile, I've received more positive feedback regards Aquasapien, with requests for a follow-up book. Aqua took a lot out of me and I gave it all I had - at the time- not sure whether I have enough vibes going to compile a second, but I'll try. It's great because I haven't sold many copies so the feedback I'm getting from members of the public is very valuable. I hope there's a publisher reading to this. LOL. Another positive, a local shop in Broadstairs has agreed to stock Witch on the Warpath. Free copy for the person who finds out which shop.

These past few weeks have been very busy for me. I'm continuing in the race to complete Gristle's Revenge in-between my full-time work, Soroptimist and Writing group activities, but it's hard. While my family have gone upstairs to bed I'm sitting here pounding away on the keyboard at 23.20hrs for various reasons. For example today was a quiet day, I managed a lie-in to read, which was wonderful.
I've just finished the Ghost and the Graveyard which was interesting and erotic, making me think my four sex scenes in Aqua are nothing by comparison - though mine become weirder. Hold on, she has sex with a ghost! Maybe mine aren't that weird either. Then it's the usual stuff we all do at weekends; breakfast, touring cars racing, shopping, a relatives birthday party, ironing, dinner - which I almost sacrificed by turning the grill on instead of the oven! First time honest. We watched X Factor boot camp, some good singers on there, I thought the man who threw himself into the air in a fit of pique might have broken an ankle, or at very least ruptured a testicle from the way he landed. Started getting bored with telly, so moved over to the laptop to check emails, messages, Pinterest, Good reads, Ebay, my store, pay car tax, buy white ribbons and finally update my three websites. Saved you the other mundane things like feeding the cats 24 times - I think they must have worms. I need to continue with WOTW book 2, but the blog called. Speaking of blogs, I've been selected as an official Blogger for the National SIGBI Conference I'm attending end of October. That's after we've held our Modern Slavery event up at Westwood Cross on Wednesday 18th October. Feel free to pop by, you can pick up interesting information on how to know whether a house in your street is being used by illegal slavers. It is terrifying, did you know they traffik people not just as sex workers, but manual labour, organ harvesting and baby production too. That could be your daughter, son or relative they kidnap. Why did I start this blog today? Oh yes to let people know that I have signed up for Nanowrimo again this year. I know, I'm officially mad. I probably won't manage it this time with all my commitments, but its not till November - I know I'm away then at another conference, this time Sci-Fi! I'm planning to take my laptop so I can try and keep going. It's because I'm already having folk ask when Aquasapien Proidgy is out. I've only sold a few copies of Metamorphosis so to have people ask is great, but its more pressure and Nano is a good way of getting it off the ground. I've have started it, only another 100,000 words to go. |
