Pleasantly pleased to announce that the proof editing is over.
I've been reading the novel on my kindle to check for any missed things or sentences and time line stuff I've missed. On chapter 9 and found several. Finally did remove the graphics regarding the second rape, though kept the first as pivotal to the story - and the next novel in the series. Only one person has come forward to Beta read this novel, which doesn't bode well for sales, and so far I don't think they have started reading. A Beta reader just gives a review on the feel of the book, how the story flows, what they think the target audience is, general stuff. Current task is to find an illustrator for the cover that I can afford. First two illustrators let me down, now on number three. Today's comms with him are making me more depressed about the whole thing. I'm way out of my depth without a clue how to practically complete the cover - the tech details are over my head. I want an eye-catching cover but unless my fairy godmother leaves me about £800 that isn't going to happen any time soon. I'm guessing its back to the fivesquid site again! To face another let-down. Once the cover is done, the book moves out of my hands to the formatter and then on to the printer. So glad I didn't set a launch date, though Halloween would have been nice. She sighs in resignation. On the bright side WOTW is selling a few copies. I'll be glad to end this process and get back to writing and completing the follow up for WOTW - Gristle's Revenge.
